Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms and Mommies to be out there. For me being a mom has been the best part of my life this far. I love my two beautiful children and enjoy all the time we have together. My children are what keep me in balance or at least on my toes. As I reflect over the years my children have done and said some wonderful things to me but, here are my favorites. As many of you know my son recently had an accident, he broke both of his arms. As we waited for the Doctor he sat there sad and scared he looked at me with the most sincere expression and said "Momma I just want you to know that I have loved you with all my heart since the day I was born".
Both of my children have always had a favorite blanket. Not just the kind of blanket you cover up with. The blanket that goes every where you go. The blanket you have to drive all the way back to Grandmas for. The blanket you have to sneak and wash when they are sleeping or else they sit beside the washer and dryer and wait patiently. (Time Out made simple) Well, my daughter has a blanket just like this. Her blanket came home from the hospital with her. This blanket was a beautiful white gauze material lined with satin. We call him bankie. He has been loved to the bare threads. One day I told her bankie had to be washed and would be ready before she went to bed. She was about 3 years old. She was not happy about this and began to cry. I asked her "Why do you love that blanket so much"? She looked at me and said "Bankie smells just like you mommy". So I took that as the ultimate compliment.
What ever your memories are keep them close to your heart. They are only little once but, they will always be your babies!
